Registrations are now open for the 11 categories of the InnovationAus 2021 Awards for Excellence, the six-month premium program to identify and reward Australia’s best and brightest individuals and companies.
InnovationAus Excellence Award seeks to highlight the people and organizations that are driving the creation of new products and services, and new industries in Australian economies.
They are the national heroes of an economy in transition: the people who create jobs, create wealth and create great social impact, all in the national interest.
These awards represent 11 categories that correspond to areas of strategic focus for Australian governments and will be judged by independent panels against five criteria that represent value to the nation.
“There are currently huge opportunities for Australian innovators to capitalize on a rapidly changing global technology landscape, and we want to play our part in highlighting the companies and individuals who are making a real difference,” Corrie McLeod, editor at ‘InnovationAus. mentionned.
“Australia has a real competitive advantage in a whole range of market segments. We have great skills and a long experience of research excellence in new global knowledge, ”she said.
“This InnovationAus rewards program will highlight the next steps in bringing economic and social value to Australia – business success; intellectual property translation; impact; innovation excluding R&D; and applied technology.
InnovationAus 2021 Excellence Award is a six-month program or articles, podcasts and video testimonials to spotlight these incredible innovators and will conclude with a black-tie commercial disco event at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney on November 18.
Our founding partners for these awards include Verizon Business Group, Sitecore, Squiz, Microsoft Australia, CSIRO, Mimecast, Agile Digital and Wrays.
The judging criteria for the awards are:
The judges will examine what your organization’s commercial success looks like, your export potential and your successes in the international market. We want to see evidence of your company’s track record of creating a product or service and then selling effectively in domestic and / or international markets. It’s a (very) commercial nightclub!
Intellectual property translation
Intellectual property (IP) is developed in different environments and there are many strategies to successfully commercialize research results. The judges will reward excellence in intellectual property translation – through programs that enable successful research collaborations in various sectors as well as companies that continue to develop intellectual property in-house.
What is the impact of your business on its sector? Does your product or service take Australian intelligence and create new jobs and wealth for the nation, or improve the lives of our citizens? Does your innovation inspire originality and ambition? Judges will examine how participants align their measures of success, such as achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals or CSIRO challenge missions.
Innovation excluding R&D
We will also seek out business innovations that have helped your organization translate its intellectual property for business or social success. The elements will include your organization’s business strategy, a successful backbone or its adaptability to major challenges, risks or unexpected outcomes. It will look at your leadership and human resources strategy and all other non-R&D factors that are critical to successful growth.
Judges also want to hear stories from organizations that have adapted or pivoted research and innovation projects to create a product or service for an entirely different industry. What horizontal applications of these particular technologies have been used to solve a challenge? How are these companies themselves consumers of emerging technologies which will then create new products?
