said in a group discussion on May 25 during the third session of the 15th National Assembly that the implementation of economic recovery plans and public investment should be encouraged to provide timely support to businesses and individuals.

Speaking during the panel discussion on the complementary assessments of the implementation of the socio-economic development plans and the state budget in 2021 and the first months of 2022, Phuc also highlighted the social issues that require particular attention, including education, child abuse, drowning and schooling. violence.

He pointed to the challenges ahead for the national economy, such as inflation, the effects of soaring global energy prices and stock market volatility, which require supportive measures to remain stable.

The president acknowledged the encouraging economic indices of the first five months of 2022, but warned against complacency.

He said the resolution passed at the 13th National Party Congress sets specific targets by 2025, 2030 and 2045, with continuously high growth. Therefore, strong and drastic measures are needed to achieve the goals.

The lawmakers shared the view that despite the unprecedented difficulties caused by COVID-19, the country’s socio-economic development still registered good signs last year, with gross domestic product (GDP) up by 5.22% in the last quarter and 2.58% for the whole year.

Seven of 12 socio-economic targets were met, the macroeconomy remained stable and the consumer price index (CPI) rose only 1.84%, they said.

They attributed the results to the leadership and instructions of the Party, Legislature and Government who made sound and timely decisions and policies to mobilize the strength of the whole political system and the support of people, businesses and the international community.

MEPs highlighted the transition from the COVID-19 prevention and control strategy to safe and flexible adaptation and effective control of the pandemic.

During his group’s discussion, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the annual growth target of 6.5-7% until 2025 as specified in the resolution of the 13th Party Congress national and 8 to 8.5% set by the legislature this year remains a big challenge.

Only more than 70% of public investments and 32.85% of official development assistance (ODA) were disbursed last year. Notably, the economic recovery and development program worth some VND 340 trillion (USD 14.65 billion) has yet to be implemented, while it will become invalid after 2023.

He stressed the need to understand the reasons for outstanding problems in disbursement work during economic recovery and development, especially in health care and education.

Many MPs expressed the view that consistent economic reopening policies are needed to not miss opportunities, as well as more revolutionary measures for a vigorous recovery. /.
